Position: Social Worker - Permanent Full-Time - 37.5 hours per week

Description:  We are currently recruiting for a full time Social Worker experienced in working within a trauma lens. The Social Worker will work with people who have addictions and/or mental health issues and people living in poverty.  The Social Worker acts as a resource to the Community Development and Outreach Team, coordinates client care with the Primary Health Care Team, and offers direct counseling where appropriate to the clients of CCHC. The Social Worker provides treatment from a trauma perspective and is able to educate staff and volunteers about this way of approaching treatment.

 Qualifications:

  •            Master of Social Work degree from a recognized university and
  •            Current registration in good standing with the College of Social Workers for Ontario
  •            A minimum of five years mental health experience is essential including assessment and counselling in a clinical setting
  •            Previous experience in a community health environment as asset
  •            EMDR experience an asset
  •            Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, combined with strength in critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skill
  •            Solid computer skills including previous experience with an EMR (Electronic Medical Record)
  •            Able to respond in a positive way to demanding issues and project a welcoming, friendly personality
  •            Completion of a Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector check prior to commencing employment is required
  •            Valid Ontario driver’s licence

Position: Chiropodist - Permanent Part-Time - 22.5 hours per week

Job Description:

CCHC is seeking a Chiropodist to perform assessment, diagnosis,treatment,health education,counseling,and other clinical footcare activities according to the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.

The Chiropodist acts as an advocate on behalf of CCHC’s target population, promoting health equity for all.

Primary Responsibilities

  •   Ensures chiropody resources, materials and equipment are maintained
  •   Contributes to chart documentation, participates in chart reviews and case conferences, and makes referrals to other health care providers where appropriate
  •   Participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education,counseling and health promotion programs for individuals, families and thecommunity
  •   Other dutiesas may from time to time be assigned
  •   Participates in staff development and team meetings as requested.

 Qualifications:

  •   Graduate from a recognized school of chiropody 
  •   Current registration with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario without limitations 
  •   Experience as a chiropodist in a community health or hospital setting preferred 
  •   Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation an asset 
  •   Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications, including software used by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care 
  •   Able to work in a fast-paced environment, to maintain a professional attitude at all times, to respond in a positive way to demanding issues, and to project a welcoming, friendly personality
  •   A second language is an asset
  •   Experience working with clients who have experienced trauma is an asset

Position: Research Assistant - STUDENT- 1 position - 20 week contract beginning September 6, 2021, 14 hours per week       

Region: Central Elgin, St. Thomas and Southwold Township

Description:  We are currently recruiting for a temporary Research Assistant position for a 23 week contract. The Research Assistant will: work to develop tools and processes that will collect data required for CCHC to strengthen its fund development initiatives, the marketing processes for programs and campaigns, strengthen program promotion materials and processes, and program development while improving social media content, the analysis of the social media engagement and impact.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  •            Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
  •            Was registered as full-time post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and returning in the next academic year to full-time studies
  •            Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  •            Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial regulations
  •            Field of study: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced Level degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent
  •            Customer Service experience, an asset
  •            Experience planning and delivering programs and presentations
  •            Experience preparing reports
  •            Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, combined with strength in critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills
  •            Recognize the value of strong documentation and attention to detail
  •            Solid knowledge of computer programs including previous experience with an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system
